On January 2, 2019, my life changed forever. My husband and I lost our 27 year old son, and in an instant, everything I thought I understood about faith, strength, and healing was tested in ways I never imagined.

In the days that followed, there was horror. There was shock. There was a helplessness so heavy that simply getting through a single hour felt impossible. I could not think my way out of it, and I could not pray my way past it either, not at first. I had to seek professional counseling. I had to sit in deep, honest prayer, not for answers, but just to survive.

Grief does not follow a straight line. It came in waves I could not predict, pulling me under when I least expected it. But slowly, through that brutal valley, something began to shift. God did not take the pain away. He walked through it with me, and over time, He turned my darkness into light.

I am a certified Grief Counselor (GC-C), an Associate Chaplain, and a Minister of the Gospel. But before any of those titles, I am a mother who lost her son. That is the difference between what I offer and a textbook approach. I do not guide people through grief because I studied it. I guide people through grief because I lived it, and I am still living it, one healed day at a time.
